The Reuben Journal ad for our Great Lakes Chapter of the National Cartoonist Society is finished! This is the fourth one I've put together for the gang and it was a pretty smooth task this time. A few stragglers as always ( cartoonists are notorious procrastinators ) but we're done and ahead of schedule! The Journal is a publication for the Reuben Awards weekend, which will be held in Washington DC on Memorial Day weekend. A fun time for all concerned, nominated or not. Thanks to my cartooning bros and sisses for trusting me with the job of representing the chapter. Hope you like it.  — Dan Collins

This morning I was informed that an old friend and fellow cartoonist passed away. Roy Doty was a member of the Great Lakes chapter of the National Cartoonist Society as am I. One may argue the merits of professional associations but when you get the chance to become a friend of your artistic idols there is no greater benefit.

He will be cremated immediately I'm told, so let's all raise a Viking toast to a dear departed brother in arms. Keep 'em "kerfluffled" in the after life Roy!
