I've always wanted my own comic strip feature, and I've tried with a few attempts at syndication in the past. This time they came to me and asked if I wanted to create a feature for their GoComics online service. I said, "Sure, why not?" ( After 39 years, they must think I've finally got the hang of this cartoonistry stuff, I guess! )
The feature will showcase the kind of humor that got me where I am today. Zany, off-the-wall, unpredictable and going where few cartoonists venture, yet staying suitable for all ages, young or old. That's a bit of a new twist, but not a stretch at all, since I've always been a real choir boy at heart.
There's no telling where the feature will go, and I have lots of new ideas filling my head about cool things to do! Picture a variety show on the comics page. They gave me carte blanche and I intend to take full advantage of it. I haven't been this excited about a project in ages and I hope I can get readers excited too about what a modern day comic strip can be. After all, I've been thinking about it for four decades!
