Republishing LGOP's first year
Starting tomorrow, I will republish LGOP's first year's strips beginning with the corresponding day dates in between the fresh new strips that currently come out every other day. In effect it will be like a daily comic again, and you won't have to click your way back to see those old ones which you've probably forgotten by now but I KNOW you would love to see again. All in the interest of you the valued reader and if it boosts the ad click rate that's a plus!

Heading into town this morning to get a haircut and I look up on the tracks and see this. I sent this to the Joan Rivers Project folks for whom I recently redid a cartoon for the book on her life coming out soon. I mean, who does graffiti like this? Troubled youths undoubtedly.

When a client wants a "logo" they often think of it as one image file that gives a face to their brand. In fact that one image must be repurposed into many file formats that they will need for any number of usages including: signage, product packaging, website, business documents and advertising. A logo is the basis for all the ways in which your business will apply your brand but it is by no means all you need to utilize your logo to it's maximum potential. When I create your logo design, I also create a total brand package of many files in color and black and white, spot colors, sizes and resolutions, not to mention the formats a vendor might ask for at a print service. And I give you a style guide which organizes and keeps those various (50, 60 or more) graphic assets at your fingertips so you can deliver the right file to your service provider or printer. Here is a sample style guide for a recent client showing what you get when you have Collins Cartoon Studios do your brand design work. So don't think of it as just a 'logo', think of it as your brand package. Everything you'll need to boost your business's recognition factor.

What a week I'm having!
Oh boy, you never think it's going to happen to you. The old Mac Pro has been cranking along fine for 11 years, and you believe it will just live forever! Then the white screen of terror hits with no warning. She's now down at the shop getting refurbed and I am just now finally ready to start drawing again after several days of buying, setting up and buying some more. It came along in time for tax deductions which I didnt have much of this year so that's a plus. A lot of my software could be migrated, thanks to a Time Machine backup disk. Still a lot of it doesnt work with the new OS. They even told me at Corel that my Painter 12 was obsolete so they won't allow me to use my old serial number to install it. That's convenient... for their bank account! Fortunately Adobe in all it's wisdom with the new subscription based model for the Creative Cloud still allows me to download all the stuff I've bought before and keep truckin'.
The blessing of this week is that the good Lord allowed my computer to start up one last time and finish a job and get paid until it finally went comatose and I had to send it to computer intensive care. I have to get some comic strips out this weekend to last for another week while I recover from surgery Monday morning. Nothing serious, a small hernia repair. Doing that now before my insurance changes for the worse, deductible-wise, and also I can take my time to recover over the cold months in time for spring muskie hunting!
Well, back to the on-going battle to reinstall software. But I do have nice new 27" 5K retina screen iMac. Hee hee hee hee hee hee....
Updated Logo for COMI 41
I updated and cleaned up the club logo. I just tightened up the fish and kept everything else the same. The blk/wht version was optimized for printing on things that need heavier lines in the fins etc. so that's why it is a little different.
